Hall of Fame
Missisquoi Valley Union MS/HS inducted Deborah Robertson and Brian Savage into its alumni Hall of Fame on May 20, 2011, in the Paul B. Trahan Theater. The addition of these people makes twenty-four graduates of MVU who have been inducted to the Hall of Fame since its creation in 1996.
Deborah Columb Robertson graduated from MVU in 1984 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Castleton State College. She has worked at the Rutland Regional Medical Center and since 1994 has been employed at the Northwestern Medical Center where she is presently the coordinator of the diabetes outpatient services. Debbie has been a past recipient of the Vermont State Nurses Association Award and has been nominated for president of the Vermont Association of Diabetes Educators. She has been a frequent guest speaker at schools and community organizations in Franklin County, and is a religious education teacher at St. Louis Parish in Highgate. Debbie and her husband Joe have two sons, Ryan and Caleb, who both attend MVU.
Brian K. Savage graduated from MVU in 1973 and from the New England School of Banking at Williams College. For more than thirty years he worked in various management positions at both the Chittenden Trust and the Franklin-Lamoille Banks. Brian has been a past president of the Swanton Chamber of Commerce and chairperson of the former Swanton Summer Festival. He has been on the board of directors for the Franklin-Grand Isle United Way, the Franklin-Grand Isle Regional Planning Commission, and the Samaritan House in St. Albans. For fifteen years Brian was a trustee for the village of Swanton, and is presently serving his second term as a member of the Vermont State House of Representatives for the towns of Sheldon and Swanton. Brian and his wife Lynn live in Swanton and have three children, Sean, Geoffrey, and Victoria, who have all graduated from MVU.

Missisquoi Valley Union High/Middle School is undertaking an alumni information drive to compile information for an alumni directory and a major fund drive to replace the sign at the school entrance. This new sign will be dedicated to “All members of the MVU community who have served our country in the Armed Services”.
Your support of this endeavor will allow the posting of events that will bring back memories of our Thunderbird years as we pass Thunderbird Drive and inform the community, Alumni / Alumnae, and students of these traditions which we cherish. Thank you for your support and address as we truly wish to revive the alumni of MVU.
Coincidentally this also marks the 40th anniversary of our first graduation in 1971. A donation to this cause would allow us to salute the “members of the MVU community who have served our country in the Armed Forces”.
We are looking for four (4) members from each class to assist in the first phase of the fundraising which would be done by making contact with five classmates to seek funds and e-mail addresses as we start to seek donations. You would be asked to attend one of three meetings to be held in August and the total time commitment would not exceed two hours of your time. We hope you can volunteer to help us in these endeavors.
If interested please send your name, year of graduation, mailing address and e-mail to Ed Daniel at MVUHS, 100 Thunderbird Dr., Swanton, VT 05488 or to <email@example.com>.
