April 6th MVU Newsletter to Families

Hello MVU families,

First and foremost, we hope you and your family are well.  We would like to thank the students, parents, and staff as we navigate the changes due to the Covid-19 outbreak.  Our main goal is to support students and families for as long as we are all impacted.

We know you are wondering how your students will learn and “do school” in the coming weeks.  Remote learning for students will formally begin Monday, March 20th. Teachers will be communicating with students via email information about how to access remote learning.  We recognize that remote learning is not the ideal platform for learning; we are doing our best to create a system that will be engaging and manageable for students as they continue their learning. If your student has a technology question, please contact our IT Department

(mvuit@mvsdschools.org or 802-868-0510).  Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we finish developing the remote learning plans as a district over the next few days.

In the meantime, teachers have been organizing work for their students for the week.

We’d like to share a few key points for student work:

  • If you need a student Chromebook, please complete this survey

  • Students should reach out to teachers (via email) this week if they have any questions about their work.

  • Use this time to catch up on previous work or proficiencies.

Student email will be our primary form of communication! It is important that students check their MVU email account daily.   Information will also be sent out via the MVU Facebook page.

Thank you,

MVU Admin Team

Essential workers who need help finding child care should visit:  https://webportalapp.com/webform/essentialworkers.

Families can also call 2-1-1 ext. 6, or call 1-877-705-9008 to speak to a child care referral specialist.

To All National Honors Society applicants: the deadline for applications has been extended to Friday, April 10 at 3 p.m.  We will make announcements if anything changes.
